Here's a look at our second week in second grade!

On Wednesday we got to celebrate Miss Remi's birthday!

Reading: We have been practicing how to Read to Self this week. Our goal is to make it to 20 minutes of uninterrupted reading time. So far we have made it to 19 minutes!

Writing: We spent the week practicing our writer's workshop procedures. We learned about picking a good spot to write and practiced writing for a certain amount of time.

Math: We have been practicing our math rotations and also reviewing our addition strategies.

Bible: We learned how God created the world in 6 days. We also learned about Adam and Eve and how sin came into the world.

Important Information:

1. Behavior Expectations: Please remember to check your student's homework checklist every night to see how they are doing in class. At the end of the day students will write down where they ended the day on their behavior check-in. Our goal is a three everyday but twos are expected also.

2. Monthly Bible Verse: But here is how God has shown his love for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

We will be working on memorizing this verse for the month of September. At the end of the month students will be asked to recite the verse to me.

3. There will be no school on Monday!
