Friday News 5/21-5/25

Here's a look at our week:

Reading: We read different versions of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We also enjoyed having the fourth graders come and read their original stories to us.















Writing: This week we learned how to take notes and research information. We started working on our group research projects on the continents.















Math: We started our last chapter on shapes. We learned about 2D shapes like triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and octagons. We also started to learn about 3D shapes like spheres, cubes, and cylinders.

Bible: We began our unit about the fruit of the Spirit. These are the things that are present in our lives if we believe in Jesus. This week we learned about love and joy. We learned that love is putting others first and that joy is being okay with what we have.

Friday News 5/14-5/18

Here's a look at our week:

Reading: This week we enjoyed reading different versions of The Three Little Pigs. We also enjoyed our weekly reading time with Mrs. Roe!


Writing: We finished our unit on Lab Reports by doing one final experiment. Our question was: Will the candy cane dissolve faster in cold water, hot water, or vinegar? Each student made their hypothesis and then we tested it on three different days. Our results were: cold water - 1 hour and 35 minutes, hot water - 21 minutes, and vinegar - 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Math: We finished our measuring unit by going outside for a Measuring Olympics! We estimated how far we could blow, flick, drop, and roll a pompom and then measured it.








Bible: We learned about Paul's first missionary journey and then about his journey to Rome. We learned that no matter what happened in his life, Paul continued to faithfully tell others about Jesus.

Friday News 5/7-5/11

Here's a look at our week:

Reading: This week we learned about suffixes. We learned these suffixes: ly - in that way, ful - full of, less - without, and er - a person who.















Writing: This week we conducted a new experiment with catapults. Each partner group built a catapult and then tested it with a bouncy ball and a pompom. Then they wrote about the results.

















Math: We learned how to measure in centimeters. We practiced measuring different things in the classroom and also learned how to convert from centimeters to meters.

Bible: We learned about Paul becoming a follower of Jesus and about God rescuing Peter from prison. We also learned that the story of Jesus is for everyone no matter where they are from, what they look like, or their family.
