Friday News 1/7-1/11

We had a great first week back from Christmas Break! We enjoyed hearing about our breaks and being together again!

Here's a look at our week:

Reading: This week we learned how to Draw Conclusions. We practiced looking at clues to figure out what was happening even when the author did not say.

Writing: In a few weeks we will be giving out awards to our favorite books. We spent this week learning how to nominate a book for an award. We practiced picking an award, finding evidence in the book, and writing about it.

Math: We started learning about three-digit addition. We reviewed how to regroup if the answer is more than ten. Next Friday we will take our chapter test.

Bible: We started our unit on the Miracles of Jesus. We learned about Jesus turning water into wine, healing a boy that was sick, and healing a man that had leprosy. With each miracle we learned something about Jesus's power. This week we learned that Jesus has power over water, sickness, and distance.

Science: This week we learned about butterflies with Mrs. Lyons!
