Friday News - 11/5-11/9

Today we had a special guest reader! Mrs. E and her dog Ace came to visit us and read a story!

Reading: This week we learned how to make a prediction or guess about what will happen next in the story. We learned to use clues in the pictures and words to help us guess what is coming next.

Writing: We started a new unit about writing letters! We are writing letters about our favorite characters and parts of books.

Math: We started two-digit subtraction this week. We learned three sayings to help us know how to subtract.

More on top, no need to stop.
More on the floor, go next door and get ten more.
Number's the same? Zero's the game!

On Friday we practiced using these three sayings to help us solve our subtraction problems.

Bible: We started learning about the Christmas story! We learned about Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem. We also learned about the shepherds and how they heard about Jesus and then told everyone that He had come!
