Friday News 4/30-5/4

I hope you are having a relaxing long weekend! Here's a look at our week last week:

Reading/Phonics: We learned about Prefixes. Prefixes are letters we add to the beginning of a word that change its meaning. We studied these prefixes: re - again, pre - before, un - not, dis - not.

Writing: We continued writing about science. This week the students worked in pairs to change one part of our class experiment from last week. Then they thought about the materials they would need, the steps they would take, and conducted their experiment. Lastly, they wrote whether their hypothesis was correct or incorrect.

Math: This week we continued learning how to measure. We practiced measuring in inches, yards, and feet.

Bible: We learned about two men in the early church: Stephen and Phillip. We learned that Stephen was not afraid to share about Jesus with everyone that he met. We also learned that it is important to do what God tells us to do even if we don't understand why.

Important Information:

1. Spelling Words: unable, unlock, untie, unpack, reread, remind, rewrite, reuse, softly, slowly, quickly, suddenly, joyful, careful, truthful, beautiful, during, better

2. Memory Verse: Scripture says, "Everyone who call on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

Upcoming Dates:
5/7 - Progress Reports
5/28 - Memorial Day - No School
