Friday News 12/1

Here's a look at our week:

Reading: We learned how to make connections while reading. We learned about text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections. Throughout the week we practiced making connections while we read different types of books.

Writing: We continued writing poems. This week we learned how to use repetition to stress certain parts of our poem. We also learned how to figure out the mood that we want to get across and how to pick specific words to match that mood.

Math: We started our new chapter on Place Value. We learned how to identify the hundreds, tens, and ones. We also learned how to write a number in expanded form.

Bible: We learned about the early ministry of Jesus. We learned that He was baptized by John the Baptist and then tempted in the desert. We learned how to stand up to temptation: by praying, knowing the Bible, running away, and asking others for help.
