Friday News 4/29-5/3

Happy Golden Week! I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend together! Here's a look at our week last week:

Reading: We learned how to compare and contrast characters. We read several stories and worked together to tell what was the same and different between two characters.

Writing: We started our second lab report! This time we are answering the question: What materials will make a stable bridge that can hold the most weight? We spent the week picking out materials, planning our bridges, and starting to build them.

Math: This week was all about centimeters and meters. We learned how to measure in centimeters and how to convert to meters. We also learned when to use a ruler and when to use a meter stick.

Bible: We learned about Stephen and Philip this week. Stephen was the first martyr of the early church and we learned how the Holy Spirit helped him not to be afraid. We also learned about Philip and how he followed the directions of the Holy Spirit to go out and speak to the Ethiopian man. We learned that we also need to follow the directions that God gives us even if we don't always understand.

Important Information:

1. This week we are reviewing some of our most missed spelling words. Our words are: Wednesday, cherries, carrying, carried, walked, careless, dropping, cherry, Tuesday, important, doctor, further, Saturday, were, wore, flies, flying, wear

2. Memory Verse: But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Matthew 5:44

Upcoming Dates:
5/27 - Memorial Day No School
6/12 - Last Day of School - 12:30 dismissal

Have a wonderful weekend! :)
